We are a small team with over 10 years’ experience in action and sport filming, plus qualifications in documentary making and (this is Africa!) advanced first aid. 

Out There Adventures can capture every heart-stopping, breath-taking, or simply fun-loving aspect of your adventure in Africa, putting you right at the centre of those unforgettably beautiful African landscapes.

What would best suit your event and your requirements?

- Standard production - your personal DVD movie will be produced using just source audio and dubbed music, opening and closing titles. 

A final edit is shipped within one month after the event ends.

Package includes single cameraman, equipment, all basic standard filming and edit costs and will be charged at U$300 a day with 10 day minimum charge. Shorter assignments may be negotiated.

Still digital photographs comprising the best pictures from your holiday or event, are supplied on a separate DVD.

Suitable for: group or family vacation capture, adventure documentary, hunting safaris.

- Custom production - with written commentary, voice over, music and titles. These are generally more comprehensive and complex productions, and the final product can take up to three or four months to deliver. A custom package can include a crew of two or more cameramen and a producer. It will include one client editing revision, where the initial edit is sent to the client to preview, to allow for any necessary changes before final edit. 

Costings for custom filming and edits can only be determined once we know what the project involves. As a guideline clients should allow around  U$500 per day per camera man with 10 day minimum - unless otherwise arranged for smaller events.

Still digital photographs comprising the best pictures from the event are supplied on a separate DVD.

Suitable for: event and sport event capture, NGO field documentaries, corporate productions, field training or instructional films. 

DVDs are presented with the client’s name and title, or the company logo and event graphics on the case and disk. Finished DVDs are shipped to your doorstep via international courier e.g. DHL. 

NB: Cost of return travel for the cameraman from Jinja, Uganda, to the event, as well as staff type accommodation and meals, will be extra to the daily rate. 

Equipment:

All-digital film and still cameras with backups are taken on each trip, and include the large Sony HDV Z1 and a smaller Sony HDR XR 500 VE HD handy cam where agility is required (e.g. adventure sports). For  ‘award-winning’ stills photography, a Canon EOS 10D and the Canon EOS 30D cameras are used with a good selection of lenses for all occasions. 

Post production and editing is done on a professional Apple Macintosh suite, taking one to three months depending on the required content.

General

Bookings should be made well in advance. An initial consultation and briefing will lead to a quotation. Once the quotation is accepted, a contract is signed and a payment of 50% upfront confirms the booking. The balance is payable once the finished and edited DVD is ready to ship. 

The client covers the cost of transport for the camera crew between Jinja, Uganda and the event location. Our main operation area is in East and Southern Africa, but we can go anywhere in the world that the job requires.

All footage is treated with the utmost discretion, and all final images belong to you. Full backups are kept for one year, then deleted. We may ask permission to use some footage for promotional purposes.
